My Family--The Church!, Camille Cintron

Home sweet Home! I found the local church when I was in high school. It was a wonderful, marvelous, unique, enjoyable and beautiful experience. I had always longed for something better than I had. The answer I found to my seeking was God Himself. He became so real to me after I began meeting with the local church.

When I came to the church, my family situation was not the best. At that time, I needed love, supply, comfort and life. When I received the Lord, the first thing the Christians there led me to do was to sing. A song I particularly enjoyed was: “Did you know God has a family? Yes! He does; in fact, it's us. That's why we are here enjoying all He is, so marvelous. He is our God and we are His people. Day by day we love Him more. We're so happy and so thankful. We just praise Him o'er and o'er.” As I sang this, my heart started beating so hard and deep tears came out of my being. Tears not of sadness but of happiness. I felt they were just saying: Welcome to your family! We love you.

After this precious experience, I have to testify that God has supplied all my needs. All the satisfaction I was looking for I found in the local church. I 'm not sure where I'd be if I hadn't come into contact with the local church. I would like to declare today (without any fear) that I love Christ and His Church. I pray that the Lord would keep me here all my days. This is my home, my family where I found life, joy and peace.

Christ, the Center and Focus

After coming to the local church as a young person, I was introduced to the Christian authors Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. Along with the Bible, I would read their books. The way these two writers teach the Bible has changed my life and way of living. In their books, there is a focus on Christ that has attracted me to Christ and has caused me to love Him. Beyond the mere doctrines and knowledge of the Bible, the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee has infused me with the desire to know Christ more and to have sweet communion with Him. This has been a great help to me in my Christian life.
